This beautiful home decor item was very easy and fun to make! Make your own paper flowers to create a gorgeous floral topiary. First I painted a 3 inch candlestick with crackle paint to give it an aged look. Then I cut out my flowers using a shape from silhouette. Making the flowers was the most time consuming part of the process! You could also use premade flowers to speed things up. I misted the paper lightly with water so I could use the toothpick to curl the petals. This … [Read more...]

Test tube necklaces
I made these fun little test tube necklaces for my kids for Valentine's Day. I filled them with candies, but I wanted it to be something that they could later fill with little notes, glitter, or whatever interests them. I know, it's almost Valentine's Day and I am just now getting around to posting what I made for the boys' teachers for Christmas. Better late than never! The rings and bookmarks/paper clips were so easy to make! Just use some E-6000 to glue the resin flowers (also called cabochons) to the glue pad on the ring blank or clip blank. The tags are more involved but so fun to play with! I painted the wood tags with distress paints and let them dry. Then I cut the shapes out with vinyl (using … [Read more...]
