Animal valentines are cute and easy to make! I love handmade Valentine's, and I try to encourage my kids to make their Valentines instead of buying them. This year, inspired by my two year old's favorite song, I decided to make animal Valentines. I used products from American Crafts to make fox and mouse valentines out of heart shapes. I also made a "foxy" bag to hold the valentines in. I love American Craft cardstock. It's easy to cut and fold, yet firm enough … [Read more...]

Nursery/Toddler Room Reveal: Circus Themed Child’s Room
When I posted my nursery reveal two years ago, I had every intent of updating it with more pictures and tutorials. OOPS! Here are the details on my favorite room in the house.Even though this was my fourth child, it was the first time I could plan for a nursery in a home that I owned. We were renters before, so … [Read more...]
DIY “What Does the Fox Say?” Tote Bag and Shirt
OK, I realize a lot of you are sick of this song. "What does the fox say?" But my two year old LOVES it and sings it all the time, so I had to make this tote! This was a quick "I have a few minutes" project, so there are not a lot of step by step shots. I used my Silhouette cutting machine and Silhouette iron on heat transfer vinyl. I designed it myself by modifying several images and creating my own text boxes. Cut the vinyl, weed it, and iron it on. Now we have a fun … [Read more...]

DIY Personalized Ornaments made with Mod Podge
Here's a quick, last minute craft: personalized sled ornaments! These would make fun gift tags. Forgive my brevity, but I have a million crafts to finish before Christmas! This project is simple, so I don't think you'll need too much detail! Use Mod Podge to adhere patterned paper to the front of the mini wood sled. (I ordered the sleds from Consumer Crafts.) While the MP dries, paint the sled. After everything is dry, trim off the excess paper and sand the … [Read more...]
Wordy Bow Ties made with Repurposed Goodwill San Antonio Items
Some time ago I saw the performer Qwestlove on the Daily Show. The first thing I noticed was his awesome bow tie: it spelled the word "wonder." I was inspired to shop at Goodwill San Antonio to find pieces to make my own fun, quirky bow tie. I decided to use ties to make my bowties, and I bought a clip on tie so I could reuse the clip. Next, I needed to find scrabble tiles. This proved to be impossible! After months of searching at different Goodwill stores, I finally gave up … [Read more...]
